Had a great mother's day... I have to say, a day like that and I could see myself being a stay at home mom... but then I think again and realize that is CRAZY talk!!!
Anyways, it started at 7:00 when Kermit and Duck woke up (so much for sleeping in!!! LOL!)... But we laid in bed for a while and played with them... Then Momma needed COFFEE... so, off to the kitchen it was... coffee was made, and it was time to play some more... Brad made breakfast - cheesy eggs, sausage, and english muffins. I used my new cinnamon honey (from Saturday's excursion with my mom and sis Erin... but more on that later.) Super yummy!
Time to get ready for church - of course, Kermit and Duck don't want to cooperate with getting ready. Thankfully Dude is capable of getting himself dressed! Had to nurse Kermit before I could get dressed, but thankfully, had already decided to just wear jeans. Church was good - extra blessing for mothers (which should have included a huge prayer for patience)... Started thinking about the moms who don't have their kids to hold this mother's day. Made me thankful for my healthy boys standing with me.
After church, it was trip to get Dude's hair cut - have to say I really like it - when from looking like Shaggy from Scooby Doo to a guy from GQ! That was a great mother's day present. Stopped and got the rest of the stuff of dessert - Chocolate angel food cake with berries and fresh whipped cream! YUMM!!! Seriously thinking about getting some more whipping cream for tonight!
At home, Duck took a nap and we laid around for a while. Brad grilled steaks and baked potatoes - with salad and bread and green beans... what more could a lady ask for! While Brad grilled, and Dude worked on homework, Kermit and Duck and I played in the back yard (and Daddy joined in when he could!)... Got some great pics - hoping to get them uploaded soon!
After dinner, a walk around the neighborhood with the boys in the wagon... Soo cute! Can't believe how big Kermit is getting! Then dessert and bed. All in all, a very fun and relaxing mother's day!
Hope all of the mother's in my life (and everyone) had a wonderful mother's day!

Cupcake mania
So, I have totally hit a cupcake baking stage... I started with making cupcakes for Kermit's baptism... white cupcakes with blue icing just wasn't enough. I made "suprise" cupcakes, with chocolate kisses inside... Wish I had taken a picture of one cute open, but they were eaten too fast!
Next, I was reading about filling cupcakes, so I tried my hand at Peanut Butter and Jelly Cupcakes... I made a basic yellow cake, but added powdered peanut butter (PB2 is the best!). Then, after baking, I filled them with jelly - half had grape (the only kind of jelly according to my boys) and strawberry and topped them off with a peanut butter cream cheese frosting... So yummy!
This week we celebrated administrative professionals' day in the office, so I tried my hand at spice cake with apple filling and a vanilla rum frosting! Super yummy... if there are any left, I will take a picture and post soon! :)
Wilton makes a kit for cupcakes with the tip for filling (the bismark tip) which is fabulous... I have been thinking up ideas for new flavor combos, but apparently am going to be making another cheesecake next week for a birthday... hmmm, cheesecake cupcakes anyone?

Who ever first said "don't cry over spilt milk" was OBVIOUSLY not a nursing mom!
I don't know how I made it this long without it happening, but Kermit will be 7 months tomorrow (where did the time go) and I spilled my first bottle of milk today. :( I so want to cry - and eat a butt load of chocolate! - but I am at work and can't! 5 oz down the drain - or more accurately - across my desk and into the trash (after being soaked up with napkins...). My arm is sticky from getting the milk all over it and my heart is heavy. Yes, I know this does not mean Kermit will starve (there is extra in the freezer now), but it still kills me to know that I just lost an entire feedings worth in one wrong move of my arm.

Meltdown
I had a slight meltdown last night... not sure what triggered it, but it could be my lack of milk supply (not sure what happened to all that I had in the freezer) or just a hormone surge... Anyways, I was looking for pictures (finally getting around to hanging some) and Duck wanted to "help" - which we all know a 2 year old is no help when looking for something... The shelf I was looking on tipped and dumped everything in my lap... I wanted to scream and I wanted to cry... but was trying to not do either... Guess I kinda snapped when DF tried to help me out, but I needed a few minutes to compose myself and him standing over me didn't help...
Now, add to all this, DF had hernia surgery recently and still can't lift anything over 10 lbs (come on April 25!!!), so he can't lift either boy (Dude is beyoned the needing to be lifted up stage!). Kermit has hit this stage where, if I am around, I am supposed to constantly hold him... Not that I mind, but it makes it tough to do things with Duck or Dude...
I dearly love my boys and would not change having them... there are just days that I need a break... I came across a quote and decided to make it my mantra on days like this...
"There is a special place in heaven for moms of all boys"

I grow beasts!!!
So Kermit had his 6 month check up yesterday and is apparently a total gigantor!!! He is off the charts on length and in the 90th percentile for weight... Hard to believe my little froggy has grown so much... He was 8 lbs 10 oz at birth, but is now 20 lbs 15 oz and has gone from 21 inches to 30.25!!!
I don't know where the time has gone... can it really be over 6 months since he was born?!? It doesn't seem possible... and that means I have been back to work for 5 months (that I will totally believe and some days think it feels like more!)
I looked at Duck's growth chart from his 6 month check up - he was chunkier and shorter... but they are pretty close in size (which is funny since Duck started out the same length but had 3/4 of a lb on Kermit!)
We had professional pictures taken of Kermit yesterday as well... boy, was that overdue... But he was a total trooper... He nursed about a 1/2 hour before we got started - went through diaper shots and 3 outfits and over 100 pictures before we were done... After looking at the pictures to choose, he demanded to be fed again... I guess boys are like that... Always demanding to eat... LOL
Dude is like that too... At 14 he is about 5'9" and weighs a whole whoppin' 120 lbs! So jealous that he can eat anything he wants and not worry about it... Actually, he is always trying to gain weight!!! If only I had that problem...
More later!

Getting started
I am just getting started blogging... I am the mom to 3 boys and live with the love of my life...
My DF is Brad - an attorney and rabid UK football fan. I do mean rabid... like he knows all about the 3rd string backup linebacker that is a red-shirt freshman... Makes for an interesting football season.
My oldest is from my first go-around. Dude (as he is commonly referred to) is 14 and a total teenager... every other question is about what car he will get to drive, getting more time on the computer, staying up later, sleeping later, etc...
Duck (based on his ultrasound picture) is 2 years and (almost) 4 months... He is a beast - about 38 inches and 33 lbs and hasn't met anything he can't climb or tackle. He is all boy - never go around anything if you can go over or under or through it! Cars, trucks, trains, planes all make great play things... And one of his first major words - "FOOTBALL"...
Kermit (again - from his ultrasound pic) is 6 months. We have his check-up next week, so I will give stats then, but he was called gigantor by his aunt... He is a sweet baby, but ready to chase his brothers all over the house... And eat anything and everything. We are doing the EBF thing, so he is just getting food now- but he LOVES his rice cereal... grabs the spoon with both hands to "help" direct it to his mouth!
I am a full time working mom, also an attorney and couldn't imagine doing anything else in life (ok, so maybe sometimes, but who doesn't)... I am thinking of changing areas of practice, but more on that later!
This blog is a chance for me to post about being the only female in a house full of boys, being a working mom who has to pump at work to feed piggy boy, trying to maintain my sanity and tell about the cute (and not so cute) things my boys do!
Hope you all enjoy hearing about my path as much as I am enjoying traveling down it!
